Former Grimsby defender Simon Ford will go straight into the Kilmarnock squad for Saturday's match at Dens Park after signing for the Rugby Park side.
The free agent has agreed a two month deal which could be extended in the January transfer window.
Ford had impressed in a trial period earlier in the season before picking up an injury, but has come back and done enough to earn a chance north of the border.
Killie have been short of cover at the back, with only David Lilley, Freddy Dindeleux and Gordon Greer recognised centre backs, but the introduction of Ford gives an extra option there, but he is likely to make more of an impact at full-back. Despite being relatively slight, Ford is excellent in the air, calm and composed and an excellent reader of the game.
