OK we lost at Celtic Park and it was no surprise to anyone - no we have to focus on fighting for our club's own survival and that means getting maximum wins between now and even during the split as we can possible get.
Here are the fixtures that we have left before the real fight begins...
04/04/10 | ABERDEEN | HOME |
10/04/10 | HEARTS | AWAY |
If we are being realistic we could get at a minimum of 1 but a maximum of perhaps 3 or 4, so there's hope for us yet. Hearts have dione really well under JJ but the Dons are the complete opposite.
The SPL bottom six currently looks like this and St Johnstone as well as Aberdeen have a game in hand.
TEAM | PL | PTS | |
7 | ST JOHNSTONE | 30 | 35 |
8 | ABERDEEN | 30 | 34 |
9 | HAMILTON | 31 | 33 |
10 | ST MIRREN | 31 | 27 |
11 | KILMARNOCK | 31 | 26 |
12 | FALKIRK | 31 | 22 |
Each game that we play in the bottom six is going to be a tough one and each game has to be treated like a cup final - the Falkirk one in particular. There may be only 4 points between us and the Bairns but Falkirk do come up surprises allbeit rare ones, so we can't afford to lie back and assume that Falkirk will lose their remaining games.
They may just do that but we have put up a fight, St Johnstone and Aberdeen can be difficult to beat on the day but if we can organise a decent defence (prevent any leaks) and ensure that our strikers do just that not to mention keep the misfiring to a minimum then we will survive on our merit.
MON THE KILLIE!
