At the club press conference, new Kilmarnock Manager Mixu Paatelinen said that he is very upbeat but optimistic for the season ahead. He also knows that it will be a difficult season.
Mixu says "we must be positive and play the game in the proper way but we must also defend a lot". Additionally, Mixu says that there is no reason why the club can't maintain SPL survival this season.
Mixu has also stated that he would of preferred to have had more time to bring in the players that he has on his radar but instead he will doing just that in due course.
He knows that the fans have been frustrated and angry at the performance of the team over the past few seasons. Mixu acknowledge's this and promises the home support, that the new signings along with the regulars will perform much better, work hard and do their best for the club.
Mixu also knows how hard it can be to work under so strict financial restraints his predecessors have had to work under, but states the this should be used as motivation for more and better coaching.
Mixu hopes that he and new Assistant Kenny Shiels can start to make a real difference to the club.
Let's hope so.
